This weekend's ride had us tripping over the peaks to Matlock Bath once again.
This time I decided to take a few snaps.
Matlock is a little motorbike mecca on a weekend. It's packed, it's hard to park and there's not a massive amount to do when you get there. But the main thing it does have, is atmosphere. And the roads to get there are pretty breathtaking too.
It's pretty to cool to see the bikes lined up along the massive curve of the river. Glistening chrome and roaring engines give the tourists something to nosey over - and sometimes frown upon! It's usually a good vibe though. There's plenty of chip shops, ice cream parlours and pubs to jump in to. And on a day like today - there was plenty of rehydration going on! The bikes are a mix of everything - from speed demons to custom cruisers. There's usually a good mix of custom cars cruising the main street too. A good place to sit, enjoy some fish n chips, drink a pint and watch the world go by.
Usually with the roar of an engine.
The way home saw us stop off at Monsal Head for a quick drink and a gaze over the beautiful Dale and the viaduct. This view is deffo worth a visit if you're in the area.
In all fairness, there's a fair few things to do in Matlock Bath. Dubbed 'Little Switzerland' by the poet Lord Byron, it was one of the country's first tourist destinations. For more info - click HERE.
